Book Overview
Play Nice: The Journey of Parenting,
Co-Parenting and Life In Between
As a mom, educator, and mental health professional. Deirdre shares her candid firsthand experiences co-parenting with a dad who was often unavailable due the disease of addiction. This disease naturally affected the father-daughter relationship that every little girl needs to her develop into a strong, confident woman. I wrote this book so other moms could understand and feel supported on their journey. More importantly I take the stigma out of co-parenting and share with you my "intentional" co-parenting journey with dad. My daughter recognized she was more important than the conflict that often strained the relationship. She came to understand our love for her would prevail, despite the numerous changing circumstances around her. More importantly, she understands the difficulties navigating the numerous struggles that come along with this disease.

While co-parenting has its challenges, and while you may not want a relationship with dad, you still have a special relationship which you are sharing, the relationship of being parents.

When parents are in a positive co-parenting relationship, they're helping raise their children with a sense of love and security, that will benefit the children now and well into the future.
